Books I'd Love to See as Movies or TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is "Ten Books I'd Love to See as Movies or TV Shows." I'll be honest. I didn't even count this time.

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

The Naming by Alison Croggon

Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier

The Patrick Bowers Files by Steven James(would make a great tv series, if not several movies!)

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer(I know I'm not alone on this)

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson(see how it affected me?)

Safe Lands trilogy by Jill Williamson

The Circle series by Ted Dekker(please oh please oh please oh please)

The Inkheart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke(they made Inkheart into a movie and just stopped there...)

Heartless by Anne Elisabeth Stengl(Back me up here, fellow Imps!!)

The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn(what I've wanted since I was ELEVEN. These books are just near and dear to my heart.)

River of Time series by Lisa T. Bergren.

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine(It's already a movie. And I admit that I liked it. But it needs an ACCURATE representation.)

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery(It needs to be remade so that every book has its own movie. Am I right?)

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen(again, already a movie, but it needs a BETTER one.)

Though Waters Roar by Lynn Austin

These are my choices. What are yours? Feel free to leave a link to your own Top Ten Tuesday!

  1. A Christy Miller series would be awesome. I loved Though Waters Roar as well.

  2. YESSSSSSSSSS.
    *ahem* Sorry.
I just totally agree on Heartless. It's one of my favorite series, and it would be my DREAM to someday have it on the big screen. *sigh*

  3. LUNAR CHRONICLES LUNAR CHRONICLES LUNAR CHRONICLES. And all the books. Of course, usually books get just one movie made of them because you have to see if they're an economically viable thing, and usually they're not. I would be more okay with the Safe Lands trilogy if the gender roles were evened out and didn't make me want to be frustrated into a pillow so much, so that would be a Redbox movie for me; I wouldn't pay to see it in a theater. Aaaaaand... I didn't read the other books, so, I'm afraid I have no comment. I'd hope you enjoy the movies, though!

  4. Ohmygoodness, YES! Lunar Chronicles, Heartless, Safe Lands. River of Time... the word needs these to be movies or shows. And I agree, Ella Enchanted needs to be redone into a better movie. I was disappointed by the 2004 film.

    1. It really does. I saw the film a long time ago, before I read the book, and loved it. But now I'm dissatisfied! I want to see the REAL story played out!

  5. The Inkheart Trilogy, I loved who they picked for Dust Finger, Elinor , and Fengilo. I just finshed it.

    1. It's been a long time since I've seen that movie, but I still think it needs to be continued! It's such a beloved series.

  6. But Anne of Green Gables! I love those movies. It would be cool if they did one for each book, but at the same time it would be hard to let go of the Megan Follows version.

    1. I love them too! Although I haven't seen the last one yet. Still, I just....need more Anne. :)

    2. I know, right?!? Megan Follows did a wonderful job as Anne. It was like the books came alive for me! I had this movie playing in my brain while reading the books, (am I the only one that does that?!? ) and when I actually watched the movies, it matched my version pretty well. :P Megan made the PERFECT Anne.
      I think, anyway. :P

    3. She really did! I can't argue there!

    4. A book I would like to see as a movie would be The Candymakers. It's written for twelve and 13 year olds, but it was a really enjoyable book when I first read it. (Which was about 2 years ago. :) It is so hilarious, but it does have a serious note. That would be an enjoyable movie for me. I mean, the kid lives in a CANDY factory!!! :):):) And the twelve year old girl is a spy with all the latest gadgets!!!
      :P I'll stop rambling now. :):):)

    5. That's interesting, Sarah Kate! I hadn't heard of that book. I'll have to check it out! :)

  7. YES. YES. YES. YES. I need these movies in my life. Safe Lands, Circle Series, Lunar Chronicles, River of Time. AND INKHEART. INKHEART NEEDS TO HAPPEN. I WANT MOVIES FOR INKSPELL AND INKDEATH.
Also, I tagged you for a thing. Don't feel obligated... okay you can feel a little obligated. I really want to hear about your book loves. ;) http://thessalexa.blogspot.com/2015/06/thoughtful-thursdays-courtship-book-tag.html

  8. Oh totally Christy Miller! I'd want each book to have it's own movie, though--not just one movie full of sampling from each of the books.
I'd also love to see Entwined by Heather Dixon as a movie!

    1. Yes! I agree. I wouldn't be satisfied with just one movie. Entwined would make a good movie too!

  9. THERE NEEDS TO BE A LUNAR CHRONICLES MOVIE YES!!! I'm kind of iffy if it becomes a TV series like the Mortal Instruments. TMI's series is the first of its kind of to present itself like that (as far as I know, hmm.... nah, maybe How To Train Your Dragon or Kung Fu Panda are the firsts) but I think it's becoming a tread. The same thing is going to happen to Tangled, too. O-O

    1. It would be so epic, wouldn't it? I think it should be a movie series, though. And I heard about Tangled. Hopefully it'll be as good as the movie.
